Santana Row in San Jose, California, is a mixed-use development designed by Cooper Carry, Inc. I was charged with producing elevation studies for the town's theater and street walls to line parking garages. The client was interested in creating a low-scale street reminiscent of early 20th century small-town Main Streets, where commercial storefronts were topped by residential units. They drew inspiration from the regional context with buildings in the Spanish Colonial Revival and Art Deco styles along with las Ramblas, the historic main artery in Barcelona, Spain.
