Daniel Morales is the founder of Morales Architects, a small firm specializing in residential architecture and urban design.  He received his Bachelors in Architecture from Pratt Institute where he spent a semester abroad in his childhood home of Rome, Italy.  This led him to pursue a Masters in Architecture from Syracuse University in Florence, Italy, where he came to appreciate the urban context as an extension of architecture.  After working for a local architect in Florence, he took a job in the Town Architect's Office of Kentlands for Duany Plater-Zyberk CoDesign in Gaithersburg, Maryland.

For the next 15 years, Dan gained experience in various specialties such as urban planning and high-end residential work.  After getting married, he worked for the next 10 years at a Design Build firm in Silver Spring, Maryland, focusing on the nuts and bolts construction.  In 2017, he joined the New Urbanist home builder Parkwood Homes, as their in-house architect and planner.  In 2024, Dan decided to hang his own shingle, offering architecture and urban planning services to homeowners, residential builders, and developers.

Dan's life-long love of architecture and how it affects the human condition has led to writing several papers for conferences in Europe and North America as well as several on line publications.  After 30 years of experience, he is more committed than ever to doing good through beautiful designs of architecture and urbanism.
